What to sow in Feb.

February 14th

Now the weather is getting better and the seed packets are arriving, temptation is to start growing things you really don’t need or indeed eat!

Chillies is something I am going to try – I am sowing indoors 1/2 inch deep in plastic cups and in a propagator on the window sill to harvest in July-August.

Potatoes are in the egg box on the windowsill waiting for the chits to arrive and then into potato bags.  A single OCA sneaked in there… They are going in flower pots under my glasshouse. Looking forward to growing them this year. Last session I bought a plant and ate one raw in salad, shared them with others and saved some for planting on this session.

Jerusalem Artichokes been given a few  but might find a big pot to put them in and not in the soil, although tempted to use them as a windbreak. Not sure I want to eat them but should give it a go….just nervous of the wind!

Rhubarb buried and wood chip surrounding – needs some compost and some TLC to ensure a good crop. Love rhubarb.

Late garlic – might pop some garlic in like white Solent a spring variety.

Roll on weather – growing here we come. Think I might do a chilli night up at the lottie with my Chillies and Dutch oven.
